About 4C Tool Hub
Who builds this, how it's funded, and how we check that the numbers are right.
Why this site exists
4C Tool Hub started with a practical annoyance. Running a small print and design business means doing the same calculations constantly โ quoting a job, working out whether a price leaves any margin, checking what equipment would cost to finance, invoicing a client. The online tools available for this were mostly poor: buried in ads, demanding sign-ups, uploading your files to someone else's server, or producing a number with no explanation of where it came from.
So these tools were built the way we wanted to use them: fast, free, no account, no uploads, and with an explanation attached to every result. If a calculator says your monthly payment is $2,160.66, the page should also tell you why, what's driving it, and what would change it. A number without understanding is how people make bad decisions confidently.
Who runs it
How the tools work
Every tool on this site runs entirely in your browser. When you merge PDFs, convert an image, calculate a mortgage or build an invoice, the processing happens on your own device in JavaScript. Nothing is uploaded to a server, because there is no server doing the work.
That's a deliberate design decision with real consequences for you:
- Your data stays yours. Client details on an invoice, figures in a business calculation, a PDF of personal documents โ none of it is transmitted anywhere.
- It's fast. No round trip to a server means results appear as you type.
- It works offline. Once a page has loaded, most tools keep working without a connection.
Two exceptions, both noted on their own pages: the currency converter fetches exchange rates from a third-party API (sending only the currency pair โ no personal data), and the QR code and PDF tools load an open-source library from a public CDN. Neither receives your content.
How we check accuracy
Every calculator uses standard, published formulas โ the same amortization mathematics lenders use, the same margin formulas in any accounting text, the same 4.0 GPA weighting used across North American universities. Where a formula has variants, the page says which one is implemented and how your situation might differ.
- Every figure in our guides is computed, not estimated. The payment schedules, payoff timelines and break-even tables are produced by running the actual calculations, then transcribed onto the page.
- Known limitations are stated plainly. The mortgage calculator uses monthly compounding, the US convention โ so we say so, and explain how Canadian semi-annual compounding differs, rather than quietly being slightly wrong.
- Corrections are welcome and acted on. If you find an error, email us. Guides carry an "updated" date so you can see when something last changed.
These tools produce estimates for information and education. They are not financial, legal, tax or medical advice. For decisions with real consequences โ a mortgage, a business loan, a tax filing โ confirm the numbers with a qualified professional. Our disclaimer covers this in full.
How the site is funded
4C Tool Hub is free and supported by advertising through Google AdSense. That's the entire business model. There are no affiliate links, no sponsored tool recommendations, no "best credit card" roundups paid for by card issuers, and nothing here is for sale.
This matters for how you should read the guides. Sites funded by affiliate commissions have a financial reason to steer you toward particular products. We don't recommend specific banks, lenders, cards or brokers at all โ the guides explain how the mathematics works and leave the product choice to you. If that occasionally makes the advice less specific than you'd like, it also means it isn't being distorted by who pays us.
We use Google Consent Mode: advertising cookies default to denied until you choose in the cookie banner, and you can change that decision any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer. Full details are in our privacy policy.
What's here
Currently 34 tools and 12 in-depth guides, organised around four groups of people:
- Students โ GPA and final grade calculators, word counter, unit converter, study timer.
- Small business owners โ invoicing, profit margin, break-even, sales tax, QR codes.
- Anyone making a financial decision โ mortgage, loan, car finance, compound interest, debt payoff.
- Everyday tasks โ PDF merging, image conversion, passwords, dates, tips.
New tools get added when there's a genuine gap, not to inflate a count, and existing ones get improved when people point out what's missing.
