The short version
Your calculator inputs, files and text are processed locally in your browser and are never sent to our servers. A few features do contact third-party services (the exchange-rate lookup, two open-source code libraries and Google AdSense); they are listed in full under Third-party services below. The site shows ads via Google AdSense, which may use cookies for ad personalization and measurement — and you can reject that at any time via "Cookie Settings" in the footer.
1. Data processed by our tools
All tools on 4C Tool Hub (calculators, converters, generators, PDF and image utilities) process your input on your device using JavaScript. We do not receive, store, or have access to the numbers you enter, the text you type, or the files you process. Some tools save your preferences (for example, your theme choice or consent decision) in your browser's local storage; this data stays on your device and can be cleared through your browser settings.
Third-party services
These are all the outside services this site contacts. None of them receives what you type into a tool or the files you open.
| Service | Where | What it can see | Why |
|---|---|---|---|
| open.er-api.com (Exchange Rate API) | Currency Converter only | Your IP address and browser details, as with any web request, plus the currency code in the request. Not the amount you enter. | To fetch current exchange rates |
| cdn.jsdelivr.net (jsDelivr) | PDF Merger and QR Code Generator | Your IP address and browser details when the page loads its code library. Not your files and not what you put in a QR code. | To deliver the open-source pdf-lib and qrcode-generator libraries |
| MET Norway (api.met.no), reached through our own server | The weather card on the home page, only after you press its button and your browser allows location | Our server sends it a latitude and longitude rounded to about 11 km, and the server's own IP address. It does not see your IP address or your device. | To fetch the forecast for your area |
| Google AdSense | Pages that show ads | Your IP address, the page address and, if you accept cookies, advertising identifiers (see section 2) | To show the ads that keep the site free |
| Our hosting provider | Every page | Standard server logs (see section 4) | To serve the site |
The weather card, in detail. It does nothing until you press its button. Your browser then asks whether this site may know your location, and if you agree your device sends a latitude and longitude, rounded to one decimal place (about 11 km), to this site's own server. We do not store your location or link it to you. The server asks MET Norway for the forecast and passes it back; it keeps one cached forecast per 11 km grid square, shared by everyone in that square for up to 15 minutes, and short-lived rate-limit counters keyed by a one-way hash of your IP address and the hour, which later requests clear out. Your browser remembers only that you turned the card on and your °C/°F choice, never where you are, and "Turn weather off" on the card clears it. Forecast data comes from MET Norway under the CC BY 4.0 licence.
Anonymous page statistics
To learn which tools people use, this site counts a few events on its own server: a page was viewed, a tool was used, a copy or download button was pressed, a search found a tool or nothing, the weather card loaded, and roughly how long a page stayed open (in four buckets). Each event adds 1 to a daily counter labelled with the page, a coarse screen size (phone, tablet or desktop) and, for page views, a coarse class of where the visitor came from, such as "Google" or "direct".
This uses no cookies and stores nothing in your browser, and it keeps no visitor ID, IP address, user agent or exact time. Nobody can be identified or followed from one page to another, and the referring address itself is not kept. The only text kept is a search phrase that found no tool, reduced to lower-case letters and spaces (3 to 30 characters) so we can see which tools are missing. Visitors who send Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control are not counted, and neither are automated browsers. Counters are kept for about 13 months. To stop abuse the server briefly keeps small counters keyed by a one-way hash of your IP address and the hour, which cannot be reversed and are cleared out automatically.
We do not store anything the other services receive and cannot see it. How long each service keeps what it receives is governed by its own privacy policy, not ours.
2. Advertising (Google AdSense)
We use Google AdSense to display advertising, which keeps the site free. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your visits to this and other websites, and to measure ad performance.
- Google's use of advertising cookies is described at policies.google.com/technologies/ads.
- You may opt out of personalized advertising at adssettings.google.com.
- We implement Google Consent Mode v2: advertising cookies default to denied until you make a choice in our cookie banner. If you reject, ads still appear but are non-personalized.
3. Cookies and local storage
| Item | Purpose | Type |
|---|---|---|
cookie_consent_status | Remembers your cookie/ads consent choice | Local storage, this site only |
theme | Remembers light/dark mode preference | Local storage, this site only |
wx_on, wx_units | Remember that you turned the home-page weather card on, and your °C or °F choice (never your location) | Local storage, this site only |
| Google advertising cookies | Ad serving, personalization (only if accepted), fraud prevention, measurement | Third-party (Google) |
4. Server logs
Like nearly all websites, our hosting provider automatically logs basic technical data for requests (IP address, browser user-agent, requested page, timestamp) for security and reliability. These logs are not used to identify individual visitors and are rotated automatically.
5. Email
If you email us at support@4ctoolhub.com, we keep the correspondence only as long as needed to resolve your question. We do not add you to mailing lists or share your address.
6. Children
The site is a general-audience service and does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live (e.g., GDPR in the EU/UK, PIPEDA in Canada, CCPA in California), you may have rights to access, correct or delete personal data. Because our tools don't collect your personal data in the first place, most requests concern advertising cookies — which you can control via the cookie banner, your browser settings, or Google's ad settings linked above. For anything else, contact us at support@4ctoolhub.com.
8. Changes
We'll update this page when our practices change and revise the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the homepage.
